Ordeals 1 & 2

Congratulations on being selected by your peers in the local unit to be a member in the Order of the Arrow. We hope the call-out ceremony during summer camp was a memorable one.

2017 Ordeal Dates:
Ordeal I – August 11-13, 2017
Ordeal II – September 8-10, 2017
*It is important that you show up to one of the two dates to take your Ordeal.

Things to Bring:
Listed below is a list of things we suggest for you to bring for your Ordeal.

  • Current Medical Form (copy of your Summer Camp medical form)
  • $50.00 registration fee (includes meals, Ordeal Sash, and Brotherhood Conversion fee)
  • Class A Uniform
  • Additional money (if you wish)
  • Work Clothes
  • Work Gloves
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Ground Cloth
  • Shower Supplies/Toiletries
  • Additional Clothing
  • Backpack
  • Rain Gear

**It is recommended that all items be able to fit in your pack. Pack accordingly to the weather.**

Registration:

On the Friday evening of either Ordeal I or Ordeal II, please make an effort to register before 7:00pm. Registration will officially begin at 7:00pm and run until 8:30pm and will be held at the Dining Hall. What to expect:

The Ordeal is the final step of the induction process into the Order of the Arrow, which is what makes this event so important. The Ordeal provides a Scout the time to reflect on his experiences in Scouting thus far, and how he can he better himself and his fellow man. The Ordeal is designed to affirm one’s love for the outdoors and Scouting as a whole. Becoming part of our Order could very well be classified as one of the most memorable experiences in a Scout’s life.
